What To Expect
Tesla is seeking a motivated Industrial Engineer to lead engineering initiatives for Lathrop Castings operations at the Lathrop site. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, working as part of a strong, agile team to tackle ambitious projects. They take pride in their analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to think systemically about complex problems. The role requires strong logic, computation, and the ability to drive data-based decisions.

The team is responsible for sustaining, ramping, and improving critical new product lines through collaboration with production, engineering, supply chain, and facilities teams, ensuring operational excellence and meeting Tesla’s objectives.

What You'll Do

Collaborate with operations, management, and stakeholder teams to optimize staffing and maximize operational efficiencyAssess current labor productivity and performance metrics, analyze workforce data, and forecast labor needs based on operational demandsDevelop and implement labor plans that align with operational goals and budget constraintsDefine optimization models for scenarios like inventory, job scheduling, material requirements, and material flowLead continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing functions to enhance safety, quality, delivery, cost, and growthProvide feedback and optimize site layouts for production, material flow, construction, and facilitiesDevelop and maintain process and manufacturing data and plans, applying PDCA, Continuous Improvement, and Lean methodologies

What You'll Bring

2+ years of industrial, manufacturing, or mechanical engineering experienceDegree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent experienceExperience with layouts in AutoCAD and discrete event simulation software (ARENA, Flex Sim, etc.)Demonstrated leadership and ability to drive projects with diverse teams in a manufacturing environmentExperience quantifying and solving ambiguous problems at a systems levelExtensive detailed analysis experience to make data-driven decisions and summarize results for executivesExperience designing greenfield facility layouts and/or manufacturing processes is a plus

Expected Compensation

$72,000 - $156,600/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
