Union Superintendent – Healthcare & Higher Education Construction
Philadelphia, PA (Onsite)

We are seeking a hands-on Union Superintendent to lead field operations across healthcare and university construction projects in the Philadelphia area. This role requires strong experience working in active, occupied environments where safety, coordination, and minimal disruption are critical.

This is a field-first leadership role — ideal for someone with a union background who can run point on complex institutional projects.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily field operations on healthcare and higher education construction projects (renovations, buildouts, capital improvements)
• Manage union crews and subcontractors across multiple trades
• Coordinate work in active hospital and campus environments with minimal disruption to operations
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, infection control protocols (ICRA), and site-specific requirements
• Drive project schedules, sequencing, and trade coordination
• Conduct site walks, track progress, and communicate updates to Project Management
• Resolve field issues quickly to maintain project momentum
• Coordinate materials, equipment, and workforce planning

Qualifications

• Union construction background required (IBEW, Carpenters, etc.)
• 5+ years of Superintendent or lead field experience on commercial/institutional projects
• Experience working in healthcare (hospitals, labs) and/or higher education environments strongly preferred
• Familiarity with ICRA protocols and working in occupied/operational spaces
• Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, safety, and site logistics
• OSHA certification preferred
