The Position
Under the general supervision of the Chief Operating Officer(COO) or designate, the Communications and Marketing Manager works closely with the Management team to develop, positively position, and maintain the company’s professional image and reputation. The communication objectives will initially focus on building understanding and support for the organization, the community, and its membership, as well as influencing positive opinions and behaviour among potential respondents and stakeholders.
Strategic Planning
Assist with developing communications policies and plans for internal and external communications.
Key Tasks:
Campaigns and Communications Materials
Prepare written materials for public awareness campaigns. Maintain a range of publications to meet communications goals.
Key Tasks:
Issues Management
Assist in developing and implementing communications strategies for key issues affecting the organization’s image.
Key Tasks:
Media Relations
Maintain and develop links with local and other media outlets to facilitate good communication and ensure fair and accurate coverage of the organization and the wider community.
Key Tasks:
Marketing and Communications Advice
As required, advise the various boards of the organization and other sub-committees about marketing and communication strategies.

Events Management
Assist in coordinating some market & social research events and advise Members organizing other events.

Speech Writing
Prepare speeches for the Chief and Council, CAO and any other authorized spokespersons as required.
